Hair Vitamins Everyone Should Be Taking

Before you assume you just need a supplement always always ALWAYS check with your doctor to rule out any health concerns that could effect your hair. There are many factors that can play a part in having thin, dull hair such as anemia, vitamin D deficiency, low ferritin levels or hypothyroidism. Once any major health concerns are ruled out feel free to beef up your supplement intake to make sure you're getting all the right nutrients for your healthiest hair & scalp ever! Most people tend to overlook having a healthy scalp because who cares, right? Wrong. A healthy scalp promotes a healthy environment for optimal hair growth.

I did the legwork for you & researched a blend of supplements that all work together with the right vitamin ratios for optimal hair & scalp health. You don't have to use the same exact brand of supplements but you do need to make sure you're getting enough of each vitamin in the proper, safe amounts. Think of it as a recipe for healthy hair.

That being said here's the recipe:

Biotin - 5,000mcg

Folate - 400mcg (no more than 1,000 unless recommended by a doctor)

Vitamin A - 700mcg

Vitamin C - 65-100mg

Vitamin D - 15mcg (no more than 250mcg or 4,000 IU)

Vitamin E - 8mg (no more than 1,000 unless recommended by a doctor)

Zinc - 7mg (no more than 25 unless advised by your doctor)

I decided to choose the brand OLLY because along with being a high quality product it can also be easily found in the aisles of your local Target (HOLLAA'!). Or almost any other grocery/drug store. It's easily accessible, no artificial color, flavors or sweeteners, they're non-GMO & gluten free. My personal favorite is that they offer easy to pop gummies. I don't know about you but no matter how bad I want to glow from the inside out, I will not take a handful of pills every morning to do it. Not for very long at least.

Fun Fact: In my research I was surprised to find that typical 'Hair, Skin & Nails' supplements don't include all of the vital nutrients needed for best results.

This quartet of supplements is the perfect ratio of all the vitamins you need to your best hair ever! All the Folate needed to keep red blood cells happy which delivers oxygen to your hair cells. Vitamin A is needed for healthy cell growth. Hair is the fastest growing tissue in the human body. Vitamin C increases the natural production of collagen, an important part of hair structure. Vitamin D stimulates hair follicles which helps new hair growth. Vitamin D deficiency has been related to alopecia, the condition that causes bald patches on the scalp. Vitamin E balances pH levels normalizing the oil production of your scalp supporting natural shine. And of course the hair superstar, Biotin. Biotin helps convert nutrients to energy. I'm not a doctor so I'm assuming energy = growth not a mental energy. I also recommend taking up to 2,000 mcg extra of Biotin on top of this concoction. Any more than that your body just won't absorb.
